The consumer version of Google Drive is getting a makeover, with a new name, new benefits and affordable prices for data storage.
In the next few months starting in America, all paid consumers Google Drive storage plans will become Google One plans, Google announced Monday. This does not apply to business customers using Google Drive as part of the G Suite.
Updates make Google's consumer storage plans more competitive than dropboxes and Microsoft's OneDrive options.
Google One will offer up to 30TB plans per month, and pricing for bigger plans from 2TB will be the same (30TB will be worth $ 299.99 per month).
In addition to new pricing, Google lets one customer purchase family plans. Customers can add five family members under one bill, each family member still has their own private storage space.
Google One also brings "one-tap access" for experts to help consumer products and services. Customers get facilities like credit on Google Play or get deals on some of the hotels found through Google Search.
Consumer Google accounts come with 15 GB free space, but as noted by Google, people are using more storage for the use of mobile phones and the rise of 4K video and high-resolution photography.
